Materials Technology
In Materials Technology we designed and made a tag. This is the process we went through in making our tag.
ANZAC Letters Home
Dear Mum
I hate it here... the trenches are filthy and stink of rotten things, not to mention having rats scuttling around everywhere. I've seen so many good men loose their lives, I often think about how their families must feel. Thank you for the ANZAC biscuits you guys sent me! Their so much better than the Hardtack, Bully beef and sometimes stale bread. Thanks for the scarfs and socks you knitted me, they're very cosy! How's Anika, Sebastian,, Finn and dad? Has Anika sewed a dress yet? The poor nurses have had so many soldiers come in. I hate going out on to the battle field. Yesterday I had to clean the toilets it was horrible!! This morning I refilled a few sandbags too. My best friend here is Max he is a dog and he helps me out a lot when I need it. I heard someone was sentenced to death because he fell asleep on look out duty. Love you lots I'll see you when this war is over!

Music Reflection
In music with Mrs McHattie on a Thursday I have learnt how to read music. Before this I didn't even have a clue about what a treble clef was but now I do. I learnt loads of new songs that I play as a warm up before I practise guitar. My favourite song we learnt to play was Polly Wolly Doodle! My favourite composer we learnt about is Mozart. He was born in Salzburg, Austria. His first compositions were published in Paris. He was a composer of the classical error. I have really enjoyed doing music with Mrs McHattie I wish we had more time! Thank you Ms McHattie. Here is a video of my group (group 1) playing a song called yellow bird.

Room 10's Inquiry
Turangawaewae Inquiry Metacognition - The Power Of Reflection
- You created 3 pieces of art in class. Which one were you most proud of and why?
I was most proud of my Heitiki because it took the most patience, time and effort to complete. I also love the colour scheme that I chose and the pattern I scratched for the background
2. You were asked to submit your very own/individual piece of art that represented you and something you were inspired by. Explain in more detail about this…
I did my piece in art class, it was based upon an artist who came into our art class to talk to us about what inspired her to do the artwork she did. Taking in this information we created our own work. The artwork itself is koru and maori designs.
3. You learnt some new skills during our term of art - cross hatching, colour composition, maori motifs, patterns and symmetry. Choose one and explain in more detail exactly what you learnt.
For our first piece of art we used a technique called cross hatching. So we basically did the crosses from naughts and crosses over it and we did the light colour first and then the dark colour over top.
4. Our trip around Hawke’s Bay was to inspire us. Describe what your highlight was from this trip and why.
My highlight was going tot the museum because it had so many unique art works in it. My favourite on was the dyed rice mandala.
5. If we carried out this Turangawaewae Inquiry topic again, what would you change/do differently?
I would use more different apps to do my presentation.
6. Identify one person's artwork that you are impressed by. Explain why?
I was impressed with Sunshine’s mosaic that she has done for the art exhibition because she put alot of work into it and I love the theme to it and the colours she used.
